TGIF

HaPPy fRiDaY everyone!! This has been a rough week at the Thibault house, Hadley has been having some rough nights. Not sure if she's going through a growth spurt (she chug-a-lugs all night long!) or if she's teething, or what. But I always think she's teething! But technically the pretty much teeth until they're 3, becuase Gracen still doesn't have all of hers!

So tonight I am trying my "meal made from scratch" since it's Friday and we can't eat meat (lent). I'm attempting spinach and cheese stuffed shells. We'll see how it goes. I don't know if it's technically "made from scratch" but for me it definitely is! So hopefully my attempt in the kitchen will help me scratch off one thing on my list for March a week early. I am awesome like that afterall.

In addition to that list, I have added one more thing. And that is to slow down and enjoy March. I just realized we are booked every weekend in April, and pretty much every weekend after that until October! Yay for wedding season: showers, bach/bachelorette parties, rehearsals, fittings, and of course the weddings! But I have a feeling I'm going to feel burnt out, so March is my recharge month. And hopefully full of R&R to get me through to Oct.

BuBbLe BaThs!

Last night Hadley had her FIRST "big girl" bath! Gracen was sooo excited to get to share this with her. Bath time is a favorite time at our house.

Everytime I gave Hadley a bath, Gracen would do such a good job helping with the shampoo and the rags, and everytime without fail she would try to hop in with Hadley!

This is a very exciting time for me, as the little baby bath we have kills my back. So yay for Hadley! I can't believe she'll be 5 months old on Sunday!!!

Gracen seriously would not leave her alone, we have a whole big bath tub and she literally wanted to be right next to her.

Such a sweet big sister!!!

Look at that sweet little face! How could you not just love her. And all her rolls! I still can't get over how much bigger she is then Gracen.

Don't get me wrong, she's by no means a big baby, she's still in less the 25%, but that's big to me considering Gracen was off the charts she was so teeny.

I just want to squeeze those cheeks all the time!!!

My Sweet Hadley

It's hard to believe how big Hadley is getting. It seems like yesterday I was in bed too excited to sleep the night before surgery. Now I see how big she's gotten and it's easy to say sure I want another baby! (Someday.) And then I remember the exhaustion, sleepless nights, and crying. Then I don't want any more. 2 is good for me! But we'll see what happens! In the mean time, here's what's goin on with my sweet sweet Hadley girl:

She's found her toes! I'm sure this would've happened much sooner, but since it's so friggin cold, and this winter we're up to our umpteenth blizzard of the season, Hadley has spent most of her first months all bundled up (minus bathtime). But lately I've been leaving her socks off for a couple minutes at a time to let her play, and she thinks this is hilarious. Oh how I long for the days when all it took was toes to entertain Gracen!

Hadley's finally mastered cereal! Well mastered might be taking it a step too far, but she's taking bites! Which is a huge relief to me, because that will hopefully help her start to sleep through the night. (For all you peops sans kids, cereal is way more filling and for longer then milk). Mama is exhausted and is definitely ready for a FULL night's sleep!

Howdy Neighbor!

We're getting new neighbors! The house next door to us just sold, and we're really excited about it. We hope that there will be some little kids for Gracen and Hadley to play with! On the other side of us is a bachelor, he's nice, but no friends for the kiddies. We've got a bunch down the street, but it would be nice to have some right next door.

We are however sad to see our old neighbor go. He was a nice older gentleman that lived there with his wife and their 2 college age sons. Unfortunately after 20 years of marriage his wife wanted a divorce, and he didn't want to live in the house all by himself. So sad!

But on the bright side, we can't wait to find out who our new neighbors will be!!

Bring on SPRING!

Is anyone else sick of the snow? Now don't get me wrong, I love snow and all, and there's nothing better then a white Christmas, but I am ready for SPRING! I am really missing the fresh air, and actually wanting to be out in it! Gracen LOVES to play outside, but everytime I open the door she just keeps repeating "cold, cold, cold!" We hope to get her and Hadley a swingset at some point in the next couple months, and I'm really excited about that. I can't wait to hang out outside again!!! And of course the cute little summer dresses and all the other super cute outfits that come with springtime! (Not to mention the SHOES!)

I am getting SO excited for Easter, and for Gracen to turn 2. We've got quite the weekend of festivities planned. I can't believe it's only 5 1/2 weeks away! This year is already starting to fly by, There's less then a week left in February, where did the month go?! But, I am ready to leave behind February, and the winter weather it brought!

Big Girl!

Sometimes I honestly forget how big Gracen is getting. Being my first born I'm sure she's going to feel like I baby her pretty much her whole life. Which I probably will. But anyways, right now we are currently shopping for "big girl" furniture for Gracen's room. But were having a dilemma because we don't know what to get. When Hadley moves to the crib it will probably stay in Gracen's room. They're going to share for a while at least (we'll see how that goes). But I would like to get Gracen bunk beds. But there's no room for bunk beds and the crib. So do we get her a toddler bed that she'll only use for a year? Do we get bunk beds that can be seperate and also stack and store one in the basement? It is certainly a dilemma. I'm not sure how this one will turn out.

But on to the real reason for this post. To test if Gracen was ready to move to a "big girl" bed, we let her take a nap in the guest room on the big bed. When she woke up, we just heard a little knock on the door, she was nicely telling us to let her out!!! (haven't quite mastered opening up doors yet). What a sweet little girl.

Next up on the "big girl" list: Getting rid of the pacifier!!! LORD HELP US!

My List... Sort of

So I'm sort of obsessed with blogging... again. I know I took a small hiatus, but sometimes that happens when you're a stay at home Mom with no internet. Now that I'm back in the working world and have a brand new laptop at home, I'm embracing the blogging world. It's way more interesting than FB because not only do you get to see pictures, but stories with lots of details. To make a long story short, I saw on someones blog their list of 101 things to do in 1,001 days. Well, I couldn't come up with 101 things (the pressure got to me!) so I decided I'm going to set short term goals that are easier to manage. I'm going to have a list of 5 things a month I want to accomplish, 10 things for the year that I'd like to accomplish, and 5 things to accomplish in the next 5 years.

So here's my list of 5 things to accomplish for March:

1. Create a budget for the month
2. Cook a meal from scratch 3/5/2010
3. Start the Yoga class at my gym
4. Clean out my closet and donate to goodwill... again
5. Get my quarterly bonus (if I cause any negative monies I don't get it!!)

10 things to accomplish in 2010:

1. Finish the basement
2. Get up to date on Gracen's scrapbook
3. Start Hadley's scrapbook
4. Go on a date with my husband (that's not for a special occassion)
5. Race for the Cure (and actally race this time, not sleep-in for the cure)
6. Participate in MOW (Meals on Wheels)
7. Plant a garden
8. Paint the kitchen
9. Put on a swimsuit
10. Write a Christmas newsletter (and send it out)

5 things to accomplish in the next 5 years:

1. Aquire a treadmill
2. Get Lasik
3. Visit my sister Jaime in TX
4. Convince Stephanie to have at least one baby so my girls have some cousins close in age!!!!
5. Move to KC!!!!!!

That doesn't seem like much, but to a full time working Mom of 2 girls under the age of 2 that's a lot!! Considering all the activities going on this year, it's going to fly by!!!

DANGER! Toys really ARE us!

Even though Gracen's second birthday is still 6 weeks away (ah seriously that's not as much time as I thought!) I am currently shopping for her present. I just got out of Toys'R'Us, and that store is extremely dangerous to a mother who likes to spoil her 2 year old. I have to keep reminding myself 3 things:

1. She has a gazillion toys already.
2. She's only TWO
3. She doesn't care how fancy it is or how much the present cost, she generally likes the warpping paper and bows best (give her another year...)

So I'm trying not to go overboard, and that is extremely difficult considering all the sales, and the fact that Toys'R'Us has so many cool things. Every which way I look all I can think is "man I would've loved that as a kid!" And we all know that I except nothing but the best for my girls (and neither do their Aunts thank goodness or I'd be broke!) So in 6 weeks you'll know what I decided to get her!

Boo for the Flu!!

One unfortunate thing about having little kids is the germs that come with it. Especially when your kids go to daycare. This is the 2nd time in about 9 days that I've been sick. It is no fun! I'm gettin spring fever so bad it's not even funny. Hopefully my girlies stay healthy. Another unfortunate tidbit that childless people may not know is that children generally have a cold ALL WINTER LONG, until the age of THREE! Poor little babies.

The little Moments

It truly amazes me everyday how much Gracen loves Hadley. Everytime I get stressed out about having 2 little kids under the age of 2, I just look at them interacting and my heart melts. This morning, Hadley was playing on the floor and Gracen was playing peek a boo with her. As I was rushing to finish getting ready, I heard Gracen start to scream, and my initial thought was something bad happened, like she stepped on Hadley (leave it to me to think the worst!) When I got to the living room, Gracen was just worried that Hadley was "getting away". Hadley has recently started to roll all over the floor, and it worries Gracen that she's going somewhere. I tried my best not to laugh, Gracen just wasn't done playing yet and she thought Hadley was getting away. Oh kids. So easily amused. I love it!

2010 What?!

Honest to goodness, where does the time go? I cannot believe that it is 2010, let alone February 2010. So much has happened and I can hardly remember it all. Our computer fried, so I have yet another excuse as to why it's been so long since the last post. But we just got a brand new laptop so I'm all out of excuses!

I have yet to post a pic of Hadley Jean, who is growing like a weed everyday. I cannot believe she is 4 and 1/2 months old! She's rolling all over the living room, and starting to eat solid foods. Gracen can hardly wait for her to get big enough to "play".

Ms. Gracen is just full of personality. She is her mother's daughter after all. She talks a mile a minute, and definitely commands attention. She is learning sign language right now, and LOVES it. Another way for her to communicate her demands. Right now we are trying to teach her patience among other things. She is dying for a puppy, but with all the craziness we have going on this year(3 immediate family weddings!), I think it'll be 2011.

Pictures to come soon I promise! (And not 4 months from now).
