Stats

This morning was Hadley girl's 9 month check up at the doctor. This little turkey now weighs 17.8 lbs, and is 29 inches long! She's only in the 25% for weight (last check up we were in the 50%), but she is still my little butterball turkey! I can tell she's thinning out, becuase she is considerably taller, 90%! I had Gracen get weighed as well, becuase last time (3 months ago) they were only about 4 lbs. apart. But Gracen is abnormally tiny, she's never really even been on the charts for her weight. So I am happy to anounce that she is a whopping 23.4 lbs! She has gained about 3 lbs in the last 3 months. She doesn't go back for a check up until she's 3, so I don't know if she's entered the charts or not, but she's lookin good, and they're now about 6 lbs apart! Growin like weeds my lil girlies!

Thirsty Thursday

Only not the kind of thirsty you'd think! Last Thursday night me and the girlies headed to KC to start off my birthday weekend. We stayed at Aunt Nanie's house, and Gracen was more than thrilled to get to spend time with the puppies. While we were there, Gracen got to taste her first snow cone. At first they didn't give her any flavoring (syrup) but you can't outsmart that girl! She loved it, and she loved going brrrrrrrr! These kids are so spoiled. At least until we get some cousins on this side! (wink wink Nanie!)

She thought the snow cones were the coolest thing

Snow cones... BRRR!

LOVES dogs, someday we may breakdown and get her one

Poor Hadley did NOT like the puppies so much, so she hung out in her stroller where they couldn't get her!

9 months

Happy 9 months to my sweet baby Hadley Jean! I can't believe it's been so long, but at the same time it hardly seems like any time's passed at all! This little is growing up way too fast! She's already standing on her own for about 10 seconds, and we've got both bottom teeth! She is going to be running around here with Gracen before I know it. And pretty soon I won't have a baby anymore, I'll be chasing after 2 toddlers, ahh!

Just like Gracen, loves to try to get the camera

love love love her blue eyes!

She is on the move and ready to roll!

Happy 9 months Hadley girl!!!!!!!

Upgrade!

Last weekend we bought the girlies a new pool for the backyard, since the old one was a wee bit tiny. It would've been fine for just Had, but Gracen could barely fit!

This girly loves the water, and is happy there's more than an inch to play in now!

Mom! No pictures! I'm 2!

bahah it looks like a mug shot, I swear they actually like swimming!

Shower time!

This weekend was my sister's first wedding shower! We threw her a couple's shower with cocktails and appetizers and I think it turned out marvelous. Luckily the weather was on our side. It started to storm around noon, but the sun was out and shining by party time!

The happy couple

All of the siblings at the party. Yep even Adam showed up!

Our lovely array of appetizers we slaved over all day!

Sound the alarm

The past 2 nights have been rough. And that's an understatement. Saturday night there was a sever thunderstorm, and it woke Gracen up around midnight. She was scared and wanted to sleep in our bed so reluctantly I agreed. The bad part about Gracen sharing a bed is that she thinks it's play time. She'll poke you just to see if you're awake and to say hi. She tosses and turns. No one gets any sleep including her. Around 4:30 when the storm finally quieted down, she went straight back to her bed. Luckily Hadley slept through it all! How? I don't know becuase the other 3 of us were up from midnight until 4:30.

Sunday night was no better. It was in fact worse. Around 11 or 11:30 severe thunderstorms hit again, and I was just waiting for Gracen to wake up. Luckily she didn't. But then around midnight the tornado sirens went off. And normally this wouldn't be a big deal, in fact I quite enjoy a good storm. But with 2 little kiddos, panic mode hits. I woke up to them, and had to shake the Mr. awake. Thank goodness I'm a light sleeper these days! Went and grabbed the kids and headed to the basement in a cold sweat. 20 minutes later we get the all clear to come back upstairs and back to bed. Turns out they were setting off all the tornado alarms in a rotation, just because. And this made me LIVID. Tornado sirens are not a joke people! A watch, a warning, those aren't serious. But when you hear that siren you better believe there's a tornado on the ground and take cover. There was no tornado, just some idiot sounding the alarm. I was so made it took me a good 2 hours to go back to sleep. That's just not right to freak people out for no reason!

Bring on the chompers, and some patience for Mom

Oh my goodness. Teething. All.the.time. For those of you who haven't read my blog long enough, I blame just about everything on teething. I like to believe this is why no one has memories before the age of at least 3 years old, there's just too much pain.

Gracen has now "cut" 2 of her canines (the ouchiest ones). And by cut I mean they have broken the surface, they still have to come all the way in. She's also now cutting her back molars. This does not make for fun times for Mommy. I can understand why the girl doesn't want to chomp down her chicken nuggets at dinner time, but she can only eat so much oatmeal and pudding.

We are still (im)patiently waiting Hadley's first tooth. I can see them, and feel them, but the ugly buggers just won't cut. This makes for a fussy baby all day long, and a very tired Mama. The "experts" (I use this term loosely) claim that once the first tooth is cut it gets a little easier since they now know what's coming. I disagree. We're in for  along road until we've got a mouthful of chompers for Ms. Hadley girl.

So come on teeth, we are ready for you! And ready for a good night's sleep!

Sweet Summertime

The only thing that gets me through the eleventy billion degree heat, and a 2 year old that wants to spend all day outside is a baby pool, filled with ice cold water! Ahh sweet summertime!

Wedding Weekend

This past weekend was crazy. Especially crazy hot. The hubs brother got married in their hometown, and he was a groomsmen, and Gracen was a flower girl. Friday night at the rehearsal, I knew it would be a 50/50 shot of whether or not Gracen would actually walk down the aisle. She's not the best at taking directions, and especially does not like being told to wait (we're working on that). And let me tell you it is not the easiest thing in the world to corral 2 kids by yourself in a 95 degree Church.

Saturday rolls around and Gabe had to be up at the Church early to start taking pics, so I had to get myself ready as well as the girls on my own. We had to be up there at 1 to take pics... outside. It was so stinkin hot. I feel bad for the wedding party in tuxes and those long dresses! Gracen was in no mood to take pics since it was during nap time, and I knew things weren't lookin good for the actual ceremony.

The wedding started at 3, and Gracen (as I predicted) did not want to listen to the ushers in the back telling her what to do, so instead of walking down the aisle, she proceeded to scream bloody murder. So while the rest of the kids walked up the aisle, she had to be carried up to me on the side.

Once it started, Hadley fell asleep on my lap, and I was literally drenched in sweat. I mean my glasses were literally sliding down my face. And Gracen did not want to sit still and keep saying yelling "hi Travis!" (Gabe's brother). At one point Gracen had to go potty, and at another point she wanted to go sit with Daddy in the front row, and once she even got away past her cousins and Aunt in the same row and ran up to the front. Needless to say, I'm a little worried for the next 2 weddings in August and October, where Gabe's a groomsmen in the former and I'm a bridesmaid in the latter and Gracen's the flower girl in both.

When we mosied over to the reception while Gabe was in the limo with the bride/groom/bridal party, all Gracen wanted to do was run around. It was a rough start, but finally got Gracen and Hadley fed, and when it was time to dance Gracen loved it. Both girls were donezo around 9, and I was more then glad to take them home. I was hot and exhausted and I didn't even drink!

Overall it was a beautiful wedding, and we couldn't be happier for Travis and Christina! I just hope I can control my kiddos a little better in August. Ha. If Hadley's walking by then I'm doubly screwed!!

We managed to get a couple pics as a fam, although it's not the best, but hey what can you expect. And it was extremely difficult to get a good pic of Gracen. And I wanted one of her and Travis (her godfather) but failed on that front too. Oh well, we had a good time anyways!

Gracen and her cousin Addie, they're obsessed with each other!

My sweet baby Had

Daddy and his girls

We took about 5, and this is the best we got!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Avacado

How on earth do you buy an avacado? I'm not even kidding you this is a serious question, so if you know, please enlighten me! Hadley is starting to transition to table food, and I've read that avacado's are a great food for babies becuase they're already really soft so you should just have to cut them up reall small and let her at it. If only it were so simple. I don't like avacados, I don't even like guacamole. But for the sake o my sweet babes, I attempted to buy one at the store. We got home and the next day I sliced her open. And the thing was literally hard as a rock. And it's my understanding, that thats not what it should be like.. haha. So I'm not sure if it wasn't ripe enough, or if it was too old. So if you know anything about avacados and how to buy them, please help a mama out!
